This full day training will feature 1) New legislation, regulatory guidance, and caselaw, 2) HIPAA Privacy and Security Update 3) COVID-19 issues and concerns – masks, mandatory vaccines, reporting outbreaks in SUD settings under CA OSH rules 4) Telehealth – consent, confidentiality, security 5) 42 CFR Part 2 update - August 2020 Regulations (Exception for Medical Emergencies, New Consent Form Requirements); January 2021 Regulatory Change (Court Orders); CARES Act statutory changes and March deadline  6) Minors’ access to treatment, consent laws, and confidentiality 7) Access to records – HIPAA, Ciox v. Azar case; California PAHRA, 8) Ethics and professionalism, dual relationships, boundary issues, termination of the clinical relationship, bad yelps and social media.

The training is designed to be of interest to public health, mental health, substance use disorder and other professionals and staff who work in county healthcare settings.  

There is no registration fee to attend this training.
